- CHRISTMAS
TIME
ooOO O OOoo
It might say above 'Welcome
To 2005', but where did that year go? Wow, what a year!
We’ll have our Season
Review coming for you soon, and it has quite a good ending which was deserved
for the effort Soul has put in this year to overcome various issues. We’d also like
to take this opportunity thank everyone for all your support this year, and the
e-mails to the website. We’d like to thank Ringwod Moto X Club for their achievements
with the club. It was definitely worth the change this year – Thanks Guys, and
A big Thanks to South West Ambulance Services for their support both on and off
the track.
RIAS, you’ve been
fantastic this year in many ways, and we're pleased to hear that again you have
won The Guardian Best Home Insurance Provider Award. Insignia Signs as ever are
Brilliant. A great bunch of guys (and girls), that also offer a top notch
service with Graphics and Signage. Likewise with Lotus Press, their printing
services are to the highest standard. Rather like EBC Brakes (4u.co.uk) … and
at
least we know Souls brakes work well, .. and they last really well considering
the conditions at times.
And also a big thanks to
all of our other Partners, Sponsors, Supporters – All of you.
We’ll have some
interesting news for you coming soon, so as they say Watch This Space … there’s
going to be a few cool BIG changes …
Have a Great Christmas
everyone, and see you for a Wicked New Year !!

Suzuki
- Still on Corser
 © SUZUKI RACING... .
As we predicted at the beginning of the year,
Suzuki Were right on Corser! Both of the Suzuki boys put on a strong show
through the WSB season, but it was Troy Corser that took the Championship Win,
bringing the number one plate home to Suzuki. And Troy will be out there again
for 2006, trying to do it again against the likes of Troy Bayliss back from the
GP’s on his Duke, and Britains James Toesland, who takes over Chris Vermulans
slot on the Ten Kate Honda. More on Chris in a moment. Partnering Corser will
again be Yukio Kagayama, who will be looking to up his game and is aiming for the
championship. © SUZUKI RACING...
In
the AMA championship on the GSXR Suzukis, rider Matt Maladin again blitzed the field
and took the 2005 title and was crowned Champion – Again. Ben Spies came in second overall and showing
promising form for the future, whilst the veteran Aaron Yates came 100 points behind
Maladin, to claim fourth place. The line up should stay pretty much consistent
for next year, although it’s Spies will for sure be the one to watch. © SUZUKI RACING...
It’s a sad loss for BSB, with 3 Times BSB Champion John
Reynolds making the bold decision to hang up his leathers, after a nightmare
accident filled year which effectively ended on October 7th during a
practice session.
We Thank you John – You’ve been Fantastic ! … with 50
victories and over 200 starts to the legacy, starting back in the 80’s as a
School Boy Moto crosser. With a career spanning over GP’s, WSB and BSB - What
a Racer and a Total Gentleman

With a big pair of boots to fill at the Crescent Suzuki
camp, they’ve opted for the talented young gun, Shane ‘ Shakey’ Byrne. Largely
due to Team politics, and of course an all important ride for ’06, Shakey comes
back from the GP’s ready grab a few more rostrums under his belt, so providing
the team can pull it together for the coming season, they could have quite a
package, inclusive of James Haydon who’s services have been retained again.
 © SUZUKI RACING
It’s
all smiles over in the Moto GP Suzuki
camp, with John Hopkins staying on board to continue with developing the GSVR. Kenny
Roberts Jr however, brings an end to a
long relationship with Suzuki, including a Championship win under the reign of
Gary taylor. Could this be retirement for Kenny, or will he ride for Kenny Snr
on the – er Kenny Roberts Racing Bike. Has a kind of ring to it don’t you
think.
 © SUZUKI RACING...
Taking
Kenny’s place is another young gun coming over from WSB. Enter Chris Vermulan
into the arena. Chris is another hot talent, and like Shakey share the ability
to say they’ve both raced the Honda RCV. Perhaps down to more politics, and no
Honda GP ride for 2006, only a WSB ride, Chris Vermulan was snapped up by
Suzuki, clearly seeing his potential. This lad is certainly one to watch.

World Endurance Suzuki Castrol
team finished the 2005 season as clear winners of the FIM World Endurance
Championship. The riders Keiichi Kitagawa and Matthieu Lagrive and Vincent
Philippe have fought hard through the season, and overcome various injuries in
the process.
Kitagawa
commented: "Except for Suzuka, we have won all the races so overall I am
very comfortable with this season. I wanted to win at Suzuka as well of course,
but I am very happy with this result."
They did well to score 134
points, 57 more than their nearest rivals and only 11 less than the possible
maximum. Next their aim will be to win the Suzuka 8 Hours. Wouldn’t that casue
a Honda upset – right in there back yard.

The rider to get the
double bubble this year is again Ricky Carmicheal. Ricky who has not only
cleaned up in AMA supercross, but also the AMA Motocross championship on his
RM-Z450 Suzuki. This guy is the Valentino Rossi of American dirt biking. He’s
in a class of his own – but his done it on Suzukis this year, and boy what a
package that’s been. Can he do it again for 2006 ? … of course he can!

Continuing with the ups and downs of Suzuki’s efforts Yukio
Kagayama had an interesting time at the recent round of the WSB at Silverstone.
He was slightly unfortunate with a visit to the gravel trap, but he still
managed to put on a good show for his British fans. Check out the paint scheme
– Awesome! Despite the tip, both he and (Troy) Corser, head the leader board
with a Suzuki 1 – 2.

Another rider romping away with his respective championship
on the GSXR is AMA Suzuki rider Matt Maladin, with Ben Spies and Aaron Yates right behind
him (well actually about 10 seconds behind Maladin) beating off our very own
Brit Ducati rider, Neil Hodgson.
 © SUZUKI RACING...
Unfortunately the same can’t be said for British champions
Crescent Suzuki, who despite many efforts have yet to gel with the all new K5
GSX-R 1000. With John Reynolds only recently being declared fit to race again,
the team have felt this within the development of the bike, with evidence of
this perhaps most notably with the lack of results and performance from Scott
Smart. To be fair to Scotty, the bike has never really felt like his and he
really
could not get on with the lack of feel from the front end. Crescent have made
the difficult decision to part company with Scott, and reacquainting once more
with past Crescent rider and BSB refugee, James Haydon. Good luck James!

SUZUKI...
Elsewhere in Moto GP, they too are hoping for a bit of luck
for the Hopper and Kenny Jr. Whilst Kenny seems to be struggling to find the
right set up on his GSVR, John Hopkins is riding better than he ever has aboard
the Suzuki, but a spate of unfortunate problems, be it electrical or mechanical
failures, or daft slip offs in terrible wet conditions, the luck side of things
just doesn’t seem to fall their way. We certainly wish them plenty of it, and
know it won’t be long before the bike and tyres come together.
 © SUZUKI RACING...
The luck
also seems to be running out for Kevin Stribos in MXGP. Whilst Joel Smets holds
a steady 4th in the championship, it seems the season for Kevin
Stribos is going from bad to worse. This started with a broken collarbone
earlier in the season, followed by an inflammation of
his left arm which has been diagnosed as thrombosis, and has meant the rider
has been unfit to ride for several rounds of the championship. Motovision
Suzuki racing’s Yoshitaka Atsuta has also managed to injure himself at his home
round in Sugo, causing a painful leg injury, but has managed to battle on to
secure some all important points for the championship.
 © SUZUKI RACING...
Ending
on a high to the AMA/ THQ Supercross Championship at
the penultimate 15th round held at the Reliant Stadium in Houston, Suzuki’s rider Ricky
Carmichael takes the championship win, smashing the record books in the
process. Ricky now has a combined 115 SX/ MX career victories, with 12 AMA
Supercross/ Motocross Championships, with this marking Suzuki’s first in 24
years (Yes – 1981 !) Not stopping there, Ricky now also leads AMA Motocross championship
on his RM-Z450 Suzuki.
You Go RC !

SOUL
FINDS A LITTLE RIAS-SURANCE
After a torrid winter period with various health issues for Soul,
it came as a great relief and an excellent boost to the coming year, with the
news of a new sponsor bringing a fantastic new and cool looking Alpine Stars
Kit, also sporting the infamous yellow & blue ‘Pichon’ helmet from Shark
We’d like to welcome RIAS, specialising in Insurance for the over
50’s, with products such has Home, Motor, Travel and Caravan Insurance. RIAS
you may also recognise as being the title sponsors for the 2004 Championship
winning Poole 'RIAS’ Pirates Speedway team.
So spread the word and give’em a go. Tell your parents, your
grandparents, the neighbours – you never know, RIAS may even be able to save
them some money on their Insurance. (and if you haven’t already, be sure to
check out the speedway team!)

SUZUKI
- RIGHT ON CORSER
 © SUZUKI RACING...
If global news reports are anything to
go by, this could be an amazing year for Suzuki, with a few
shuffling feet in the various camps, and with positive news
all round. The GSXR’s are looking promising weapons with
Spies and Maladin in the US – AMA, whilst Troy Corser
in WSB has spent Winter Testing, showing he’s still bursting
with talent, following a couple of frustrating years with the
Foggy Petronas. Troy has been regularly topping the time sheets
aboard his Suzuki GSXR1000, with Team mate Yukio Kagayama less
than 0.50 of a second behind him. That’s right folks,
after a couple of solid BSB years, Yuki has joined Troy in the
Alstare Squad, who make a welcome return themselves.
 © ALSTARE
SUZUKI .
Taking Yuki’s place at Crescent
Suzuki is ex Hawk rider Scott Smart. It’s Ram Racings
opinion, that over the years Scotty has been given a rough time
by various media, probably due to the association of famous
family members ( Paul Smart & Uncle - Barry Sheene). Scott
has really pulled through and proved a big point to any doubters
over the past few years, so keep an eye out for him this year,
now he’s on the best bike in the paddock.

SUZUKI...
British Champion John Reynolds is
also looking on form, but now has huge mountain
to climb, after the lateast news that John
has broken his leg in practice tests.(Get well
soon John). This will certainly add a pre season
challenge for the new boy of the team. Robert Wicks, formerly of FG Sport (who
look after WSB), (and he’s very tall) is now the Big man
for the Crescent team. Although Paul Denning is still very much
a key part of the whole Crescent infrastructure, he's
now landed the job of a century
. © SUZUKI RACING...
Paul has taken over the role
of Gary Taylor who has 20+ Year’s of service as Team Suzuki’s
MotoGP Manager, having worked along many of the great riders
including Kevin Schwantz. Already the Team have great looking
GSVR’s for 2005, and the rider line up will continue to
be Kenny Roberts Junior, and John Hopkins.(below)
 © SUZUKI RACING...
On the Offroad division of Suzuki, things
are looking hot with Joel Smets and Kevin Stribos. Despite an
accident in practice, Stribos stands another fantastic chance
of having another great season on his Suzuki, and being hotly
contested by Suzuki new boys Yoshitaka Atsuta and Neville Bradshaw
in MX1 and Jason Dougan in MX2, riding for Motovision Suzuki.
 © SUZUKI RACING...
Already flying in US Supercross, Ricky
Carmicheal has taken his 5th consecutive win, giving him a comfortable
championship lead, with fellow Makita Suzuki Team mate Sebastien
Tortelli also showing solid potential on his RM Suzuki. Of course
if this is just a taster of what’s to come, then it’s
going to be an incredibly exciting year in the world of Suzuki.

There
are many worries in life that now seem irrelevant or minor in
comparison to the events that unfolded on boxing day 2004. Civilizations,
lives and livelihoods were washed away and erased, leaving millions
more disbanded and orphaned. Media pictures that followed showed
a mere glimpse of the devastation of the Tsunami, which has
also had a great impact in the world uniting to provide immediate
relief to those in need.
Media
have also reported on the scum trying to cash in on the monetary
relief, by sending dodgy emails. Ram Racing has also been subjected
to these and would like to reiterate the message in response
to these.
